Practical, play based support
to build confidence and capability
Ashton’s Place Therapy Studios provide compassionate, neuroaffirming therapy for young children who are neurodivergent or showing signs of developmental delay. Our multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary team helps build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation.
Our Approach
Neuroaffirming Approach
We recognise and respect neurodiversity, supporting children through strengths-based, individualised therapy.
Family as Partners
You know your child best. We work alongside you with coaching and support that extends beyond therapy sessions.
Multidisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Team
Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners, Therapy Assistants and Early Education Specialists working together.
Play Based & Evidence Informed
Learning through play. Our strategies are grounded in research and delivered in ways that are child led, engaging and developmentally appropriate.
Collaborative Support for Your Child and Family
Building the foundations for learning and life through play, sensory integration, motor skill development, and emotional understanding, regulation and coping skills.
Our Occupational Therapists help children build the skills they need for everyday life, what we call their occupations. For young children, this means playing, learning, moving, and taking part in daily routines like eating, dressing, and toileting.
Using a neuroaffirming, play-based approach, we work with your child’s unique strengths and interests.
We support children to develop:
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Sensory integration
- Emotional regulation
- Self-care and independence
- Play and social participation
- Ability to follow routines and transition through daily activities
- Attention and focus
We also partner with you through coaching sessions on topics like toileting, mealtimes, and bedtime routines, so that you can confidently support your child in everyday life.
Supporting functional communication, including speech, AAC, feeding, and social connection.
Our Speech Pathologists support children to find their voice – whether that’s through spoken words, gestures, pictures, or augmentative and alternative communication technology. We believe all communication is valid, and we meet your child where they are.
We assess your child’s unique communication profile and develop individualised plans to support:
• Early interaction and engagement
• Understanding and using language
• Speech sounds and fluency
• Social communication
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
• Feeding and swallowing
With a neuroaffirming lens and a focus on play, we help children build meaningful connections and communicate with confidence.
Understanding behaviour as communication. Person-centred plans that build skills and quality of life.
All behaviour is communication. Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team works to understand the reason behind challenging behaviours, then builds a person-centred plan to teach new skills and improve quality of life.
We focus on proactive strategies to support regulation and communication. Our approach includes:
• Understanding the function of behaviour
• Modifying environments to reduce triggers
• Teaching alternative, preferred behaviours
• Building emotional regulation skills
• Empowering families and educators with practical strategies
The goal is to help your child feel safe, understood, and supported to thrive across home, school, and community settings.

Delivered by our transdisciplinary therapy team in partnership with families, educators, and other professionals, ACE provides evidence-informed supports that are tailored to each child's strengths, goals, and everyday environments.
ACE can be delivered in early education settings, our therapy studios, or other community environments, ensuring strategies are practical, consistent, and meaningful across the places where children learn and grow.
We focus on:
• Early identification of developmental and learning support needs
• Therapeutic, transdisciplinary support
• Building communication, regulation, participation, and independence
